Woven in tight diamonds from very fine rattan strands, the Andros rattan ball pendant light is a small, slightly flattened sphere set on a black steel socket, closer to fine basketry than to an ordinary light fixture.
When lit, the light passes through the mesh and throws a wide net of diamonds across the ceiling and walls, far larger than the shade itself. The fiber warms to honey and the black socket all but disappears. Each ball is woven by hand, so the diamond pattern shifts slightly from one piece to the next.
At 20 cm (7.9 in) across, it is intentionally discreet: one above a nightstand or in an entryway, two over a countertop, three along a kitchen island.
