A polished marble bead set between a chrome metal sphere and an opal glass globe: three round volumes stacked at the end of a cord, with no shade and no visible frame. That is all there is to the Locres marble and glass pendant light.
Only the glass globe lights up, while the marble stays in shadow just above it, so the light is soft and diffused all around the sphere, ideal for mood lighting rather than task lighting. The marble is white veined with gray, and each bead has its own pattern; the opal glass softens the mineral edge of the stone.
One tiny scale, 10 cm (3.9 in) across and 26 cm (10.2 in) tall, slips on either side of a headboard, into a narrow hallway or at the end of a counter, and forms a line of glowing points when aligned in threes along an island.
